Netball success for our school team!

On the 25th November 2025, the girls had a fantastic time at the Urdd Girls netball tournament today. A bit of a nervous start against St. Oswalds in their first game, where they lost by 2 goals, but the girls came out fighting from that game forward and really demonstrated their brilliance! They beat Ysgol Bro Penfro 5-0 in the group stages, leading them on to play Tavernspite in the next round. The girls played phenomenally well in the shooting circle, scoring 7 goals to give us the win. Next up, we played Monkton in the quarter finals, winning by only 1 goal to qualify for the semi-finals.

The semi-final was a tough game with even tougher competition in Sageston. The game was fun, but competitive and ended 3-3, meaning extra time needed to be played. Extra time also ended in a draw, with both teams on 5 goals each. In the end, we had to go down to ‘Golden Goal’, meaning that the first team to score next, takes the win. Luckily, we kept our composure and took the Golden Goal! This meant we qualified to play Tenby in the final, which was another brilliant game. A huge congratulations to Tenby who won the game by 2 goals and thank you to the Urdd for arranging another fantastic tournament.

We could not be prouder of the girls for their performance today, and thought it was only fitting to end the day with a McFlurry! Well done Girls!
