Footballing success for our school team!

Earlier this year, there were some outstanding performances from the Year 5 and 6 boys in the Swansea City FC football festival in Haverfordwest.

They were unbeaten in the group stages and progressed through to the semi finals without conceding a goal! They scored some terrific goals and both of the goalkeepers were superb throughout!

They played Hafan Y Mor in the semi final and the game went to extra time, but they pinched a winner with the very last kick of the game.

The final was against a very strong and physical Narberth side who played some terrific football. Everyone worked tirelessly and defended like warriors. It remained 0-0 at the end of extra time. Unfortunately, they went on to win 2-0 on penalties.

Both sides progressed through which was at the Academy’s Training Venue at Llandore.  It was a real treat to play and experience such a fantastic facility at The Academy.

It was a real test for the boys with a high level of talent from across South Wales, but they worked extremely hard and narrowly lost three out of the four group games by a single goal! The school are extremely proud of their achievements and success!

The boys finished the day with a well deserved treat and a taste of Mr Williams’ favourite ice cream!
