Welcome to the website for Golden Grove School/ Ysgol Gelli Aur which we hope will help you gain more of an understanding of the work and life of our school, and to appreciate the exciting opportunities on offer to children in our care.

We pride ourselves on the broad, balanced and full education we provide in all our school settings, and the high standard of teaching and learning are a credit to the hard work of both staff and pupils. Equally, we are also proud of the atmosphere of respect, friendship and co-operation which is always evident. We believe that the ‘special feel’ at Golden Grove is to do with this caring, friendly atmosphere.
Our school continues to develop in many exciting ways, providing an even more enriching experience for our pupils. Should you choose to send your child to Golden Grove School, I am fully confident that we will be able to provide a well-structured and exciting learning environment for him or her.

Golden Grove Day Care
Our new Golden Grove Day Care incorporates Flying Start, Wraparound and Full Day Care, including an Early Drop Off and After School Provision, and is run by two Leaders. Mrs Sally Brown and Miss Sam Regan.
Golden Grove Day Care opened in September 2024 with the express aim of providing high quality, accessible childcare, through both our Flying Start Playgroup and Golden Grove Day Care that enhances the development, care and education of pre-school children from the ages of 2- 4. The setting is also able to offer accessible out of school child care through our After School Club Provision by offering a large range of play activities in a welcoming, safe and caring environment for children aged 2-11 years.
We aim to embrace our child centred approach, by supporting children to learn and develop through play. We aim to embed our ethos throughout our provision, and implement principles from Pembrokeshire County Council Early Years, Play & Childcare Service.
Flying Start is a Welsh Assembly Government Funded Programme for children aged 2 – 3 years, living in a Flying Start postcode area. All children, who live in the postcode catchment areas will be entitled to 12.5 hours funded quality childcare per week for 39 weeks of the year.

Pupil Power, and a few other helpers, really enjoyed their seeding and planting session with Anna Hobbs from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust today at school. This follows on from their work at Gupton Farm, but now we can look forward to Spring wild flowers on our very own school grounds, with varieties such as oxeye daisies, comfrey and yellow rattle being planted. A great afternoon of Tag Rugby for our Year 3/4 children today, playing against Pembroke Dock Community School and Monkton Priory School. Plenty of tries, some great tagging and some wonderful teamwork, with the all games played in fantastic spirit. Thank you to Ysgol Harri Tudur / Henry Tudor School for hosting and for providing the referees; former Grove pupil, Jack, and Dawson.

Many congratulations to all the children who were celebrated in yesterday's assembly. Children going over and above with their behaviours in school, as well as having an impact in our community. Da iawn bawb! Merlin, Pembroke and Picton Classes have all started the term with excellent attendance and are leading the way for an end of term reward. However, there's still plenty of time to catch up. House Points have also started well with Swans and Herons neck and neck at the moment.

From 8.30am there will be family photos this is for siblings only who do not attend Golden Grove School.
If your children attend Golden Grove School they will be taken during the school day to have their photos done.

Last Wednesday afternoon, a group of year 5 and 6 children travelled to Ysgol Bro Penfro to take part in a couple of friendly netball matches. It was lovely to play against so many familiar faces and was also brilliant to see a few of the boys take to the netball court. Everyone played well, showcasing briliant defensive work and lovely shooting! The girls and boys were extremely excited to come away with 2 wins out of 2! A huge thank you to Ysgol Bro Penfro for making us feel so welcome. We are already looking forward to the next one!
