Family Engagement Sessions

We’ve had a really busy week with our SSCE Cymru cooking sessions, our Family ELSA, afterschool Wildlings firepit session and our 4th FaCE project meeting.

We are very grateful to SSCE Cymru, who have funded the cooking for our Army kids group and children from the wider School community.

This week saw children from Dosbarth Porffor, Red class and Orange Class cooking with their families. We made pitta pizzas, rice crispie cakes and a lot of mess! Our year 3 & 4 children made pitta pizzas, chocolate apples and pancakes. This was a culmination of 4 weeks of work by the children who had to work together to plan and cost a menu and write invitations to invite their family member along.

On Tuesday, Mrs Jones and the Wildlings group were joined by parents who went for a walk in the Woodlands, sang songs, played hide and seek and best of all had a Firepit to toast marshmallows! What a wonderful way to end the year 1 and 2 Wildlings sessions.

We have had lots of requests for Family ELSA sessions and this week we have enjoyed cooking with these children and their parents. Our Family ELSA sessions are open to anyone and we invite parents to come in for these 1-1 sessions with their children. The children get an opportunity to talk about their week or any worries they have. This can be a lovely time and children really appreciate their parents coming in to join them for these activities.

We are now on week 4 of our FaCE project which is all about parents learning how best to support their children with different elements of School life. Next week we will be cooking at Henry Tudor School for Week 5.

Last Friday our fantastic School Choir led by Mrs Olyett helped to open the Pembroke Christmas Market. Well done to everyone involved!
