A busy week of Outdoor Learning

We had lots of Outdoor Learning fun last week while the sun shone. Lots of Parents and Carers joined us to enjoy the Tabernacle Garden.

Our Nursery Classes, Dosbarth Gwyrdd and Yellow Class really enjoyed the bug hunts, planting seeds and making flower crowns. It was fantastic to have so many of their grown ups join in the fun and a great opportunity for us all to get to know each other. Feedback from the day included “It’s been lovely to meet the other parents and Grandparents, I’ll have plenty of people to say hello to on the School run now” and “What a lovely day we had, it’s fab to have 1-1 time with my son and see him mixing with his friends. ”

We hope to be able to run more of these sessions for the older Children in the new academic year.

On Monday we went fishing to PuddleDuck Fishery in Freystrop where all of the Children caught plenty of fish. It’s wonderful to see how the Coaches from The Pembrokeshire Angling Federation encourage and support our young learners. This intergenerational work is having a really positive impact on our children and we are delighted to be able to continue this in September.

Wednesday, saw our Parents and Kids afterschool club making cookies and milkshake. It was messy and noisy and so much fun! The cookies tasted delicious and all the children went away with a recipe to make them again at home.

Next week, 20th June we have Plant Dewi Mens Project joining us to fix the Go Karts. You are welcome to bring in the children’s bikes for a check up before all those Summer holiday adventures. If you’d like to sign up to this please email Lilyw5@hwbcymru.net or give the School Office a call.

On Wednesday 21st we have the School Duathlon, please come along and support the children from 1.30pm.
