We will be creating a Nursery/ Playgroup wing within the school to offer full day care provision, including breakfast and after school, for 2 to 4 year olds from September. We will be registered with the ‘Childcare Offer for Wales’ (30 hours) and the tax-free childcare scheme.
We currently have one Flying Start room but we will extend the available space to another two rooms, with all rooms having an enclosed outdoor area. These rooms will be furnished and resourced appropriately to cater for the younger children. Access to our wider school grounds will also be timetabled.
The two additional rooms are currently being used for our Nursery and Reception children and these learners will themselves be moving into new classrooms in September (classrooms vacated due to the forthcoming opening of Ysgol Bro Penfro in September 2024).
There will be two Open Days after Easter where we will be able to share further information about this exciting development. The first one will be on Wednesday 17th April and the second one will be on Thursday 16th May 2024, both starting at 4:00 pm. The Early Years & Childcare Development Officers will be in attendance, along with key personnel from the school. Mock up photos of what the rooms will look like will be on display.
